Kajli Teej:

Kafli Teej

Teej Festival is celebrated all over the state with each region having its own unique touch. Kajli Teej of Bundi is different in several ways - while Teej is celebrated on the third day of the Shravan Month, in Bundi it is celebrated on the third day of the Bhadra Month. The festival starts with the procession of goddess Teej in a decorated palanquin from the beautiful Naval Sagar. It passes through the main bazaars and terminates at Azad Park. The procession has decorated elephants, camels, bands, performing artists and colorfully dressed people.

The people who gather here from surrounding areas also get to watch and participate in the cultural programmes that are organized in the evenings. It provides a very good chance to see performances by local artists from Hadoti region.

Though the main function of Teej is held only on two days, the celebrations continue upto Janmashtami, which marks the birth of Lord Krishna.

Bundi Ustav:

Bundi is a picturesque location in the Hadoti district of Rajasthan. Organized by Rajasthan State Tourism Department, Bundi Utsav is not only the festival of Rajasthan but also an important festival of India. Numbers of traditional and religious customs are associated with it. Every year Bundi Utsav takes place between Novembers to December.

The spectacular mix of traditional art, Rajasthani royalty, handicrafts, attires and home decors are found during these two days of the Bundi Utsav. The festival is a culmination of traditional art, culture and craftsmanship which surprises every visitor with its grandeur. Events like Music, Dance, Sports, Sightseeing, Competitions and many others are not only engaging but also present the scale of Indian Culture and traditions in front of foreign tourists.

The Programme includes: A colorful Shobha Yatra, Arts & Crafts Fair, Ethnic Sports, Cultural exhibition, Deep Daan, Folk/Classical Music & Dance Programme, Sight Seeing, Traditional Rural Sports, Turban Competition, Bridal Attire, Musical Band Competition & Sparkling Fireworks display etc. Early in the morning after the full moon night of Kartik (Purnima), women and men are seen clad in attractive colorful costumes lighting diyas (lamps prepared by them from flour dough) on the banks of River Chambal and seeking blessings by offering prayers.

Tourists love to visit Bundi during this time of their India travel to have an amazing collection and are enthralled with the various cultural programs during the Bundi Utsav days. It is the city which claims to be the house of World's best paintings, especially the paintings at Chitrashala are known across the world.
